Original artwork by Sean Danconia, created for the Official Osamu Tezuka 70th Anniversary Art Exhibit, held at Gallery Nucleus, Alhambra, Ca.
“ASTRO BOY | THE ASTOUNDING ATOMIC AUTOMATON (TEZUKA ROBOTICS)” imagines a giant battle-robo-royale crossover featuring characters from the SupaPop universe and Tezuka star-system, and revolving around a return of Astro’s nemesis, Pluto.
The artwork features a retro-vintage-replay-reboot on the original, iconic Astro Boy as he races into the sky, adorned with the manga that made him famous, presented in a giant-sized Ditko x Kirby x Lee flavored Marvel-esque comic cover, sandwiched in tadanori-yokoo-style between Rock Holmes and Shunsaku Ban.
