Commissioned by Koreantown’s iconic Japanese-owned Sushi-Ya—NOSHI—opened in 1983, in celebration of their anniversary and interior aesthetic re-boot, featuring an imaginary Tetsuya Chiba (Ashita no Joe) character (and anime?) based on one of the actual Sushi Chefs working at the restaurant, and featuring Japanese iconography in a (Tadanori) Yokoo-Pop frame.
